Her Story:

Leah Robertson's interest in dance started when she was very young. She would dance to Disney songs and choreograph dance videos with her family and friends. When Leah was 9 years old she was introduced to step and she immediately fell in love.

As a kid, she did not find many avenues to participate in step classes but continued to study the art form through videos.

When Leah started university her interest grew stronger and she decided to create a step team. The team went on to compete in multiple dance competitions, perform in front of thousands of people at university events and at Youth Day at Nathan Phillip Square in Toronto.

Leah's goal is to provide more opportunities for youth to learn about step and experience the joys of movement, collaboration and leadership.

The presentation by Leah Robertson was not only informative, but extremely engaging and of significance. Several students enjoyed listening to Leah speak, but loved being involved in her discussions throughout the event. Leah brought a different technique to this event, by allowing each and every person to experience first hand step dancing. Overall, the presentation executed by Leah Robertson was remarkable!
